Dr. Kohlmeier was born in Emporia and grew up in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He graduated from Emporia State University in 2008. While completing his degree at ESU Dr. Kohlmeier worked at Emporia Orthodontics and several other area businesses. After graduating from UMKC School of Dentistry in 2012 he completed a 3 year fellowship and Masters in orthodontics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Kohlmeier is excited to be returning to the area with his wife Lora and two children, Mya age 6 and Rowan age 4.
Dr. Haught has a special rapport with kids and people in general, so his choice of orthodontics as a specialty was a natural fit. It is gratifying for him to watch his patients grow and achieve their goals.
Emporia was a great fit for the practice because of the small town feel and great place to raise a family. Being a long time Kansas resident, he graduated from KU and went on to dental school in Kansas City. After graduation he spent several years in the US Army Dental Corp and got his orthodontic specialty degree. He later served two terms on the Kansas Dental Board and is still involved in administering licensing exams to dental students.
Dr. Haught is passionate about community involvement. He has spent countless hours over the years with such organizations as United Way, fund raising for the Granada Theater renovation, Boy Scouts, working for approval of school bonds for Riverside and Timmerman schools, and many more. Once you know him and his personality you’ll see why he was the Cub Master of the Walnut and Village School Cub Scout Packs.
